Children's book about giant pandas
Dear Colleagues, Friends and Family - Many of you have written to me
asking if there is a way to help the people and pandas in Sichuan
following the earthquake. Many of you also may know that Zhang Zhihe
(Director of the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding) and
I consulted on a children's book about giant pandas and it has just
been published in the UK and US and is available in book stores and
on Amazon.

We just learned from the president of Penguin Books in the UK that
they will be donating all of the proceeds of the book to our Panda
Base for use for relief efforts for giant panda reserves most
affected by the earthquake (rebuilding patrol stations and other
infrastructure, as well as helping the families of reserve staff and
local schools). Once these pressing needs are met, we will use any
other remaining proceeds to support our conservation education
programs.
This book may be a nice gift for a child you know or as a donation
to a local library, school, museum, or children's hospital. We think
that it would also sell quite well in zoo gift shops.

From the Sheraton Lido, coming out the front door, walk down the
driveway to the right (north). The street that borders the hotel
on the north is Yuhe Side Street. Take it to the left
(west). Walk two blocks to the end of the street. It jogs
slightly around the Tianfu Exposition Center. Where the street
ends, go left (south) onto Pinganqiao. The church is in the
first block on the West side of the street. You will walk along
the low brick wall with niches for statues of saints before you
come to the church.
Times: English mass at 4pm Saturdays. Chinese mass at 7:30 and
10 am on Sunday
Christian Fellowship
From the Carrefour Great World store near Orchard Villas It is
very close but a little complicated. Facing Carrefour, Turn
right (west) and walk to the large shopping mall building facing
you. It has a large open space running from east to west. Walk
all the way through to the western end of the building. Look to
your right and you will see an elevator. Take it to the third
floor. Bring you passport or other id that shows you are a
foreigner. The Chinese government allows foreigners to worship
as they choose, so the fellowship is required to check ids.
